Behaviour Mentor
Location: Bordesley Green, Birmingham B9
Daily Pay Rate: £110 – 125
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), 8:30 – 15:45
Start Date: September 1^st 2026
Contract: Long-Term temporary, Temp to Perm

Long Term Futures are looking for confident and proactive Behaviour Mentors / SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive primary school from September near the Bordesley Green area.

Working across the school’s SEN hubs and classrooms, you’ll combine targeted behaviour mentoring with hands-on SEN classroom support. You’ll work with pupils who have EHCPs and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), helping them regulate their behaviour, engage with learning and make positive progress.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN and behaviour support
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils
• Follow EHCPs, BSPs and individual support strategies
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly and confidently
• Support learning, engagement and emotional regulation
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff

What We’re Looking For:

• A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent in a relevant subject.
• De-escalation and behaviour management training is desirable e.g. TeamTeach
• Strong behaviour management skills and a confident approach
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
• Specialist school, alternative provision or behaviour support experience welcomed
• Sports coaching/mentoring backgrounds are also highly relevant
• Reliable, resilient and committed to a long-term role
