Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Long Term Futures are recruiting a compassionate and resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist SEN school in Swadlincote.
You’ll be working with pupils who require significant support to access learning, communication and daily routines. Every day presents a new challenge, but also the opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child’s life.

The school supports students with a range of complex needs including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities and communication needs. They are looking for individuals who are patient, proactive and passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex needs
• Support students with communication, sensory and emotional regulation strategies
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals
• Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
• Support pupils in developing independence, confidence and life skills

 
Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs
• Understanding of ASD, SLD, PMLD or physical disabilities
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Confidence supporting pupils with challenging behaviours when required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Background in SEN, care, support work or healthcare is highly desirable
