£110–£130 per day

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Derby City Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is looking for a long-term role where they can make a genuine difference.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech & Language Needs, SEMH and associated learning difficulties. The school is looking for someone who is calm, proactive and confident working both on a 1:1 basis and with small intervention groups.

About the Role

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
• Supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
• Delivering targeted interventions to promote academic, social and emotional development
• Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans
• Supporting emotional regulation using positive behaviour management techniques
• Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles
• Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school team
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and the SENCo

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires someone who can build trust quickly, remain calm under pressure and consistently support pupils to achieve their individual goals.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary school
• Strong understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language needs
• Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs and personalised learning plans
• Confident managing behaviours that challenge using positive, child-centred approaches
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, resilient and committed to supporting children with additional needs
