£110–£120 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Derby, working within its Nursery provision.

This role is ideal for a confident early years practitioner who has previous nursery experience and is passionate about supporting children during the earliest stages of their education. The school is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, contribute positively to the EYFS team and provide high-quality care and learning opportunities throughout the school day.

Please note: This role includes personal care responsibilities, including nappy changing, so applicants must be comfortable carrying out these duties as part of their daily role.

About the Role

Working alongside the Nursery Teacher and EYFS team, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children’s learning through engaging, play-based activities aligned with the EYFS Framework
• Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions to support communication, language and early development
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interactions
• Assisting with observations, assessments and learning journeys
• Supporting children with additional needs where required
• Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment
• Providing personal care, including nappy changing and toileting support, while maintaining children’s dignity and wellbeing
• Building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

This is a rewarding role that requires a caring, proactive and hands-on practitioner who enjoys working as part of a collaborative early years team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Level 3 Early Years Educator, Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent qualification (essential)
• Previous experience working within a Nursery setting (essential)
• Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development
• Confident supporting phonics, communication and early learning through play
• Comfortable providing personal care and nappy changing
• Patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships with young children
• Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to a long-term role
