The Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting children who need an alternative path to learning? This AP setting provides a supportive, therapeutic environment where pupils with SEMH, behavioural difficulties or SEND can flourish. This long-term role would suit a resilient and empathetic Teaching Assistant ready to uplift and empower vulnerable learners.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups using a nurturing, personalised approach

  • Working closely with teachers, behaviour mentors and SENCOs to deliver bespoke learning plans

  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and behaviour, ensuring a safe, structured environment

  • Encouraging engagement, independence and confidence across core subjects

  • Tracking progress and adapting interventions to meet individual needs

Who We’re Looking For

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (Essential)

  • Experience in a primary school or Alternative Provision setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent presence

  • Passion for supporting children with SEMH, SEND or behavioural challenges

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach

  • Resilient, adaptable and able to build trust with vulnerable learners
