Long Term Futures is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Newham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children in their educational journey and helping them build the confidence, skills, and independence needed to thrive both academically and socially.

Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team, you will provide classroom support across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, helping pupils access learning, develop positive relationships, and reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and within the classroom to promote engagement and progress.
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities and adapt resources where required.
• Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence, and positive participation throughout the school day.
• Provide targeted support for children with additional learning needs where appropriate.
• Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers on learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and the organisation of learning resources.
• Promote positive behaviour and act as a positive role model for pupils across the school.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, tutoring, coaching, or similar setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, proactive, and positive approach to supporting young learners.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative school team.
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, or SEMH, would be advantageous.
