Location: Stratford
Pay: £95 – £115 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: 27th April 2026
Commutable from: Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, and Redbridge.

Long Term Futures is currently recruiting for a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic school in Stratford, East London. This role is a full-time position focused on supporting students’ academic progress and emotional well-being within a secondary setting. You will be instrumental in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, working closely with staff to maintain an inclusive and productive classroom environment.

The Role and Responsibilities

  • Delivering tailored support to individual students or small groups.
  • Assisting the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour and resources.
  • Specialising in support for students with additional learning needs or SEMH requirements.
  • Mentoring students to help improve their confidence and engagement with the curriculum.

Essential Candidate Requirements

We are seeking adaptable individuals with a genuine interest in student development. To be considered, you must have:

  • Practical experience working within a classroom setting.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to use your initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A background in social work is highly desirable, provided you have also gained experience in a classroom environment, as this experience is invaluable for our more complex support roles.
