Long Term Futures are recruiting a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Newark (NG24) to join a specialist SEMH provision supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to support learners with SEN and SEMH challenges, helping them access education and develop the skills needed to succeed both academically and personally.
About the SEMH Teaching Assistant Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Newark, you will work within a specialist mainstream enhanced provision, supporting pupils who may experience anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Support the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons
- Implement behaviour management strategies and maintain structure
- Help pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills
- Support personalised learning pathways and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
