Location: Washwood Heath, Birmingham B8
Daily Pay Rate: £190 – £270
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Contract: Long-term Temporary, 1 academic year

Long Term Futures are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher to lead a newly developed SEN and Inclusion provision within a thriving Birmingham primary school. This exciting opportunity would suit a SEND Teacher, Inclusion Teacher, Resource Base Teacher, Specialist Provision Teacher, or an experienced primary practitioner with a strong background supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), cognition and learning needs, complex needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The provision will support a small group of Key Stage 2 pupils working significantly below age-related expectations, primarily at around Year 1 learning levels. Designed to combine specialist intervention with meaningful mainstream inclusion, pupils will access personalised learning while maintaining strong links with their peer groups and mainstream classrooms wherever possible.

Working alongside a dedicated Teaching Assistant and the school’s SENDCo, you will play a key role in delivering tailored learning programmes, contributing to EHCP reviews, developing Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs), and creating personalised pathways that enable pupils to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver bespoke learning programmes for up to 9 pupils with additional needs.
• Lead cognition and learning interventions during mornings and SEMH-focused support during afternoons.
• Develop and review Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs), contribute to EHCP documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning, communication and emotional needs.
• Work closely with families, external agencies and school staff to support positive outcomes.
• Promote inclusion by facilitating successful integration into mainstream classrooms where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
• Strong understanding of personalised learning, EHCP processes and SEND paperwork.
• Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt strategies to meet individual needs.
• Previous special school experience is welcomed but not essential.
• This role is not suitable for ECTs.
