SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Redditch, Worcestershire

£500 – £525 per week | Full-Time | Term Time Only | ASAP Start

Long Term Futures are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant in Redditch to join a welcoming primary academy on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide 1:1 support across two key stages, working with pupils with SEMH, ASD, and complex needs, helping them engage with learning and develop emotionally and socially.

About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Redditch, you will provide targeted 1:1 support to two pupils across the school day, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs.

Morning Role – Year 3 (1:1 Support):

• Support a pupil with SEMH needs and PLAC background
• Work with attachment needs and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)
• Use a trauma-informed approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
• Provide consistent, nurturing support to aid engagement

Afternoon Role – Year 5 (1:1 Support):

• Support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Deliver a bespoke, personalised curriculum
• Focus on communication, engagement, and individual learning strategies
• Support transition while awaiting a specialist school placement

Ideal Candidate – SEN Teaching Assistant Redditch

We are looking for candidates who:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Have at least 12 months’ experience in a school setting
• Have experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, SEMH, attachment needs)
• Are confident managing challenging behaviour
• Are calm, patient, and nurturing
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Have a solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection
