£110–£120 per day

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a dedicated KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Harrow from September.
This rewarding role involves providing dedicated support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism (ASD), helping them access learning, develop communication skills and build confidence within the classroom. The school has a strong SEND provision and a supportive leadership team committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs.

About the Role
As a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism within a KS1 classroom
• Adapt learning activities to meet the child’s individual needs and EHCP targets
• Use visual timetables, structured routines and communication strategies to promote engagement
• Support emotional regulation and encourage positive behaviour throughout the school day
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals to implement tailored support plans
• Record progress and contribute to pupil reviews and planning meetings
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) in a primary school setting
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Knowledge of strategies such as PECS, Makaton or sensory approaches is desirable
• Committed to a full-time, long-term role from September
