Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Ealing. This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential within a mainstream secondary setting.

Working closely with the school’s SEND and pastoral teams, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence and develop the skills needed to succeed academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language difficulties, dyslexia and other additional learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to implement personalised learning strategies.
• Adapt classroom resources and activities to ensure all students can access learning effectively.
• Assist with implementing EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent routines, encouragement and effective behaviour management strategies.
• Encourage student independence, confidence and engagement with learning.
• Monitor progress and contribute to student reviews, providing feedback to teaching staff and the SEND team.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external professionals where appropriate.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Essential Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker or Support Worker.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs.
• Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs or behaviour support strategies is desirable.
• Experience working within a secondary school or with secondary-aged students is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting students with varying needs.
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
