SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 2
Location: B97, Redditch
Weekly Pay: £460 – £500
Contract: Long-term, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support a small group of Year 2 pupils with additional needs and help them thrive in the classroom?

Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Redditch B97 area to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a small group of children in Year 2 with a range of special educational needs. This role involves providing targeted small group support, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and build key social and emotional skills throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering structured interventions, supporting engagement in lessons and helping pupils develop positive learning behaviours. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about SEN support who enjoys building strong, consistent relationships with children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide small group support to Year 2 pupils with various SEN needs
  • Deliver tailored intervention sessions focusing on communication, social skills and emotional regulation
  • Implement strategies such as visual aids, sensory tools and structured routines
  • Support pupils during class activities, transitions and unstructured times
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to support individual learning targets
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (school-based or transferable experience considered)
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Confidence delivering small group interventions and classroom support strategies
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
