SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Radford, Coventry, CV6
  • Weekly Pay: £500 – £525
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
  • Start Date: 01/09/2026
  • Contract: Long-Term, Temp-to-Perm

Long Term Futures are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Radford, Coventry.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the school’s specialist SEN Hub, supporting pupils across Reception, Year 3 and Year 4. Working as part of an experienced team of Teaching Assistants and an SEN Teacher, you will provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and achieve their full potential.

What the school is looking for:

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
  • Skills: Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) and SEMH.
  • Knowledge: A good understanding of EHCPs, adapting learning to individual needs, and delivering targeted interventions.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils across Reception, Year 3 and Year 4 within the SEND Hub.
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Working alongside the SEN Teacher and wider SEND team to implement EHCP targets.
  • Promoting communication, independence and social development.
  • Using visual strategies, structured routines and positive behaviour management to support engagement.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and the SENCO.
