Contract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)
Long Term Futures is seeking a supportive and motivated individual that has a strong background with SEND and/or SEMH who wants to start a new career in an amazing, tight-knit SEND School.
If you are friendly, proactive, and professional, with a solid understanding of SEND and a passion for helping children with additional needs thrive, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.
About the Role
Working closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and wider professionals, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Supporting pupils both in the classroom and in alternative learning environments
• Assisting the teacher with the delivery of engaging and structured lessons
• Setting clear, personalised expectations for each pupil
• Using positive reinforcement strategies to encourage progress
• Observing and reporting on progress and/or behaviour to teachers and parents
• Supporting pupils outside of the classroom to help them regulate before reintegrating
• Encouraging the development of resilience, self-control, and positive social interaction
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Experience working with pupils with SEND and a genuine passion for the role
• Calm and confident, able to manage challenging behaviour effectively
• Able to build positive relationships while maintaining consistent boundaries
• Reliable and committed to a long-term placement – consistency is essential
• Resilient and adaptable within a SEND environment
