Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant – Chesterfield (S41)
£100 – £120 per day | Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm | ASAP Start
Long Term Futures are recruiting a Specialist Teaching Assistant in Chesterfield (S41) to join a dynamic alternative provision supporting pupils aged 4–16 across both primary and secondary settings.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners who face barriers to mainstream education, particularly those with behavioural needs and SEMH challenges, helping them re-engage with learning and develop essential life skills.
Please note: a driving licence is required for this role.
About the Specialist Teaching Assistant Role
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant in Chesterfield, you will work across an all-through provision, supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally within a structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
- Support students aged 4–16 across primary and secondary settings
- Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Support academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
- Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic strategies
Ideal Candidate – Specialist Teaching Assistant Chesterfield
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience supporting pupils with additional needs in primary and/or secondary settings
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
- Can build trusting relationships with students
- Are calm, patient, and adaptable
- Are passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs
- Are willing to attend a pre-meeting via Microsoft Teams
- Hold a full UK driving licence (essential)
