Long Term Futures Recruitment are currently seeking a Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant to join a highly supportive and well-established dedicated team based in Alfreton (DE55). This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is committed to making a difference for children with a range of complex needs.

About the role-

  • Work closely with teachers, senior leaders, therapists, and families to deliver highquality support
  • Engage and motivate pupils by providing one to one and small group support, this is across the years 9,10 and 11.
  • Improve the quality of pupils’ learning
  • Inspire trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues
  • Build team commitment with colleagues
  • Demonstrate empathy with and an appreciation of the needs of pupils
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
  • Provide additional support with physical activities at break and lunch times

About you-

  • Experience in supporting pupils with additional needs in a school or youth work setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trust with students.
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to challenges.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed academically and personally.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community.
