Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham B16
Day Rate: £110 – 120
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), 8:30 – 3:45pm
Start Date: September 1st 2026

Are you an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Early Years?

Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming primary school in the Edgbaston area to recruit a Reception Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children during the crucial early stages of their education, working alongside an experienced class teacher in a nurturing and engaging classroom environment throughout the academic year.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and learning through play.
  • Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support children’s social, emotional and personal development throughout the school day.
  • Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily routines.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support children’s progress.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working within a Reception, Nursery or EYFS setting.
  • A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • A patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting young children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
