Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the London Borough of Croydon who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 teacher to join their team from September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Year 1 Class Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons that support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Curriculum Delivery: Deliver the Year 1 curriculum effectively, ensuring lessons are inclusive, challenging, and accessible for all learners.
• Assessment & Progress Tracking: Monitor pupil progress through ongoing assessment, identifying areas for support and challenge to maximise outcomes.
• Phonics Delivery: Support pupils in developing strong early reading and phonics skills in line with the school’s chosen phonics programme.
• Behaviour Management: Create a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes high expectations and excellent behaviour for learning.
• Parent Partnerships: Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on pupil progress and development.

Essential Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and Year 1 expectations.
• Experience delivering high-quality phonics and early literacy teaching.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A commitment to raising standards and supporting all pupils to achieve their potential.
• Two professional references covering your recent teaching experience.
