Long Term Futures are recruiting a talented and dedicated English Teacher in Birmingham to join a high-performing secondary school on a permanent basis from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate teacher to join a supportive English department, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential KS5).

About the Role

As an English Teacher in Birmingham, you will work closely with the English department and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to deliver high-quality teaching and support student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear feedback
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Support development of literacy, critical thinking, and confidence
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ UK teaching experience
• Possess strong subject knowledge in English
• Can engage and inspire learners of all abilities
• Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Are proactive, collaborative, and committed to student success
• Have a genuine passion for improving outcomes in English
