Long Term Futures are working with a large secondary school in Islington to appoint a dedicated and passionate English Teacher for a permanent September start.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established English department, teaching both English Language and English Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The school is seeking a committed practitioner who can deliver engaging lessons and drive strong outcomes for students in a supportive and ambitious environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons
• Teach across KS3 and KS4
• Create an engaging, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
• Assess, monitor and track student progress
• Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
• Support student attainment, literacy development and wellbeing

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – essential
• Experience teaching English Language and Literature in a UK secondary school
• Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to high standards and student outcomes
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

• Close to Angel (Northern Line)
