Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is recruiting for an experienced, confident behaviour mentor in Derby who is available and committed to working for at least the rest of this academic year.
You will be supporting students who are disengaged from education at present and help them build upon their strengths and emotional resilience to improve behaviour and academic attainment. These students have SEND diagnoses such as ASD and ADHD, sometimes are working to an adapted curriculum, and often require individualised attention and support inside and outside of the classroom.

About the Role
Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

  • Working on a oneto-one basis with one or multiple KS2 students with SEND needs.
  • Providing SEMH support where necessary to build confidence and selfesteem.
  • Tailored lessons to meet pupils’ individual needs.
  • Managing interventions and support groups to deliver highquality inclusion support.
  • Managing behaviours in a way to measure progress and create meaningful changes.
  • Upholding safeguarding and health and safety procedures

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Patient and caring nature
  • Apple to build a rapport quickly, adaptable and resilient when faced with a challenging environment.
  • Able to commit to a longterm position (one academic year and beyond)
  • Experience working as a behaviour mentor, or within a care home.
  • Child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
